Silent Film Gala to Benefit Roxy
The Silent Film Ensemble presents a live, original soundtrack to Buster Keaton's classic comedy “The General” on Friday, April 30th, in a gala event at 7:30PM at the Roxy Theatre. The majority of the proceeds from this event go to benefit the Roxy and Owen Sound Little Theatre.
Keaton’s film follows the amusing acrobatics of an engineer (Keaton) attempting to acquire his runaway engine. This event includes free local food from local eatery the Dhabba – Curry in a Hurry; winning Silent Film Contest films from high-school students; plus photo and historical displays concerning our local rail history courtesy of Grey-Bruce Image Archives, the Owen Sound Marine & Rail Museum, and Full Steam Ahead – Custom Wooden Model Railroad Kits.
